What's New

The latest Bookit updates have been released to the live environment, introducing a series of enhancements across the platform. Take a look below to see what’s new, and reach out to our Support Team if you’d like more information.

Improved Support for Macrons and Special Characters in Operator Names

We’ve improved Bookit’s support for macrons and other special characters in operator names, helping businesses represent their names more accurately across the platform.

This includes improved support for names and words in te reo Māori that use macrons, as well as operator names that use other Unicode characters.

These characters will now display and function correctly throughout the booking process, allowing operator names to be represented as intended without impacting the booking experience.

This improvement supports the accurate and respectful representation of the businesses, languages and communities our customers work with.

Driver’s Licence Data No Longer Stored in Bookit

As part of our ongoing security and data privacy improvements, Bookit has removed the ability to capture and store driver’s licence numbers against guest and affiliate contact records.

Visitor centres that previously used this field will no longer see it when viewing or editing guest or affiliate details. Any existing driver’s licence information stored in Bookit will also be securely removed.

This change reduces the amount of sensitive personal information stored in Bookit and supports stronger data security practices.

Easier Product Search in the Affiliate Console

We’ve made it easier for affiliates to find and book products in the Affiliate Console.

Where multiple booking catalogues are available, affiliates can now access them directly from the Make Bookings menu. For example, they can select Accommodation or Experiences to quickly view the relevant products, rather than searching through the full Marketplace.

The catalogues shown will depend on those configured for each affiliate.

This provides a quicker and simpler way for affiliates to find the products they need.

Operator Updates

Clearer Payment Actions in Bookit Stay

We’ve updated the Bookit Stay payment screen to make it clearer which action to use when charging a tokenised card.

Previously, an additional payment option was available that could record a payment without charging the guest’s card. This option will now be disabled when processing a card payment.

This helps operators select the correct payment action and reduces the risk of a payment being recorded without the guest’s card being charged.
